Its funny, I was thinking about Oriah the other day – specifically her theme of “what if the person you are right now is already exactly who you need to be”? Fun and liberating stuff.

Singing bowls are awsome! We are planning to use some in recordings for our band Ironwood at some point.

Annalise owns about a million drums, everything from a large reclaimed kitchen sink, african hand drums, a cahon, tambourines, bells, drum kit, you name it – but I’ve been getting into this big old floor tom. Its monumentally old and worn and out of tune – which creates all kinds of weird harmonics. I play it on its side so that I have a beater in my left hand and then I can hit the body of the drum or the skin with my right hand to add more chaos to the proceedings (I’m left handed).

Its great to hear other folks use drums for trance purposes within the wild world of seidh – it might not be strictly justifiable historically, but it expedites proceedings so thoroughly that it seems foolish not to make use of this simple tool!
