Perhaps the esoteric meaning of the divinity of Frey is spiritual integration in being-in-the-world.

Siggy -

Yeah, the thing is, I do still have a positive history with Frey - in particular a Freysgodi taught me a LOT about spiritual expression when I was much younger so yeah, there's no bad vibes around the place, its just a question of goodness-of-fit...

Can I ask just who is calling you? ;)

Heh, what Frey told you is like the reverse of what Woden told me some years ago. I came very close to oathing myself to Woden in 2003 and got traded to Frey. I think this worked out in the long run.

Sometimes it takes another God stepping in to show you where you belong. Woden and Frey have been known to do the two-man con with other people. A very close friend of mine was a Freysman and got grabbed up by Woden around the same timeline where I got traded to Frey. They work in interesting ways.

I wouldn't say Frey doesn't like you, either, sometimes They like us well enough that They know we're not suited for Them and push us in the direction of Who we belong to. And Woden and Frey have very, very different energy and modus operandi. It is very hard (though not necessarily impossible) to work closely with both of those Gods because of how almost-opposite They are. Woden has a strong creation/destruction polarity, whereas Frey is just sustenance and stability. Woden is the wild ride, Frey is the nice scenic route. Different strokes for different folks. Hehehe.

This is also why it irks me when some American Heathens go on about having a primary Deity is ahistorical. Besides examples in the lore, if we are indeed polytheists we should acknowledge the Gods have different personalities and not every person is suited to every God in the pantheon.

Anyway, I'm glad the rift has healed. What an amazing experience that must have been! (And yes, Goethe's description of Satan is very much Himself...)

Hi Henry, I like the energy that emanates from your latest essay. Thank you for sharing your insightful engagement with the Norse gods with your readers.

By the way, my chest pain is gone, it does not look like I am going to get pneumonia like in the past. We were talking about Thor on the phone and I think he heard us!

Hey, it is half-past two in the morning and it has all of a sudden started raining heavily! I await the thunder and the lightning!

Our gods do get rather jealous sometimes, don’t they? It’s a little strange for me, I really thought they were supposed to be above all that, but it’s true.

I’ve been getting the feeling that I’m going to have to make a choice soon, myself. I’ve been putting it off for a fair while now, but some days I feel as if my head were about to split in two.

The trouble is, of course, that I also know that the choice has already been made for me. We cannot fight the web of Wyrd, only try to recognize the patterns and go with the flow.

Hail Nornir! Viva Loki! Aum Wotan!
