Eastern Europe is an endless source of fascination for pagan and heathen inspirations. About Christianity in Eastern Europe: it being not Roman Catholicism, its impact was less imperialist. There is a lot more emphasis on mysticism in the Orthodox traditions as well. This is a very uplifting review to read – I will definitely get hold of a copy of Berman!
